I made this video to make it clear how wonderfully a tool like Vyond fits with the worklife of instructional video makers.

For instructional designers, people in HR and other internally directed functions, an animation maker like Vyond is the perfect solution for quickly creating content that looks professional, can easily be shared and that is updated in a second whenever it's needed.

I use Vyond to create all my videos—being an online course creator—but Vyond is almost better suited for people who create content for internal use.

Because, the co-creation features of Vyond are great. It's easy to invite in colleagues to get feedback on videos. And share projects and scenes to make it even faster to create similar videos in the future.

In this post, I'm sharing the script for the video I made. To tell the story about Polly, Vyond and how they fit together. But also to share with you my work process on script-writing, voice over recording and animation.

I hope this video and post is helpful to you and that if you feel the urge, will share your thoughts and comments in the section at the very bottom.

Thanks for reading along,

Rued.

Script for Animation Video about Polly

A growing trend is to videofy a lot of the training you used to do in person, or in writing.

Why is that?

Because ‘In person’ requires YOU to be there, and it takes time — and ‘in writing’ doesn’t work very well, doesn’t travel very far.

So what can you do? What’s new? The new thing is, that with modern tools, you can scale your time and increase your impact.

How?

You gotta learn simple animation.

My name is Rued, and I’ve been working with video and online training for that past 10 years.

In this post, I’m going to tell you a story, about Polly. She works with Employee Training and Development, and her life is about to become a whole lot easier.

Say hello to Polly.

She’s in charge of training new employees, keeping the legal team happy, and helping the sales team keep up with new products and services.

There’s a lot of work involved in Polly’s job, but the budget is low, so there’s not a lot of help to get.

Polly used to spend hours of her day preparing presentations for new hires, conducting compliance training sessions, and training the sales team.

In short, Polly’s days look a lot like ours, who work with elearning, HR, training, development, regulations, on-boarding, instructional design and so on.

Yeah, yeah, and now the big reveal that solves all problems and makes life easy as a breeze, right?

Well, yes kind of, cause something HAS changed. You always wanted a smarter way to create your content. You always wanted to videofy those endless PDFs and presentations. And now, that’s totally possible.

What has changed is that what used to take months to learn now takes about 2 hours.

A modern video tool like Vyond is a good example.

You invest an hour to learn the basics—how to navigate this PowerPoint looking animation maker.

Then, you start piecing together your videos from libraries and template scenes that you then customize to your own context.

You use characters that already have 100s of actions and make them do what you need to convey your message.

And of course, you invite your colleagues into the tool to get feedback and collaborate on your creations.

And, when everybody is happy, you export the video and embed it on your intranet, send it in an email, upload it to Articulate or what platform you use — as a supplement to(or replacement)of your existing PDFs, presentations and documents.

2 hours to learn. 20 minutes to create a video.

And while I’ve been talking, Polly is finishing up her Vyond course and starts to feel her new super powers.

Now, Polly is having fun creating explainer videos that demonstrate how, when, and where to use the company’s products and services - so customers and members of the sales team are informed and much happier than before.

Polly also uses Vyond to create microlearning content that helps everyone understand the company's legal rules - which makes the compliance team very excited.

And after a few weeks, Polly is able to dramatically reduce the stress and time involved in training new hires.

Best of all, she’s able to update her content whenever she needs to, as often as she needs to - so it’s always up-to-date and ready to go.

Now Polly can get back to doing the work where she’s at her best.

Like many other modern organisational trainers, our dear friend Polly has been able to convert her presentations, Standard Operating Procedures and endless documents into short videos.

As a result, she has managed to automate a lot of the manual work, she used to stress about.

She can say goodbye to unnecessarily long hours, high stress, and juggling the demands of each department — and hello to a new way of creating content.

If you want to give it a shot yourself, you need 3 things; the tool, the teacher, and a few hours of discipline.

I recommend you sign up for a free trial of Vyond and combine that with the same class Polly took to get up to speed in the shortest time possible.

As a small bonus, I have a custom link for Vyond that you can use, to get a 15% discount on your subscription, if you choose one of the paid plans after your free trial.
